The Vatican recently designated the Cathedral of Saint Paul (St. Paul, Minnesota) to be the first national shrine in honor of the Apostle Paul in the State of Minnesota and the only national shrine in North America dedicated to honor Saint Paul.

What took the Vatican so long to memorialize Paul in the US?

Paul himself might be part of the problem. You might call Paul a mono-maniac. He was a maniacal about one thing, and always kept that one thing, the One Thing, to the annoyance of people in his day and ours.

What was that One Thing? That One Thing that Paul could not let go was Jesus the Christ, his crucified, risen and regnant Lord. And Paul kept Jesus the One Thing in his life by telling everybody else about “THIS ONE THING I KNOW . . . .”
