Familiar words! Seems as if St. Paul knows what he is talking about! Humanity is best served by individuals who know themselves; that is, their talents, skills, abilities (gifts which they possess and for which they seek to find some function), and service to humankind which is in keeping with their dispositions, temperaments, and strengths.
