... ,” can’t you? But the easiest way to resolve that crash of clash? Be in relationship with the one you are struggling with. And that goes for any situation, whether with race, or sexual differences, or cultural differences or just differences of opinion. We see people differently when we come into relationship with them, and realize, they are human just like we are. ... we are bombarded with “speech” and stimulation constantly. We are incited to engage, to step up, and to critique in our world on an almost constant trajectory. Cain is right. Our culture can’t stop talking. In fact, we talk so much, put forth our opinions, and analyses, and contribute our two cents to every subject under earth, that we barely have energy or time to listen to our neighbors and companions, let alone God. We could learn some things from our friend Solomon in Ecclesiastes. There is a time ...

Don't believe your friends when they ask you to be honest with them. All they really want is to be maintained in the good opinion they have of themselves.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.
Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects... totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have by the most eloquent denunciations.
The discovery of truth is prevented more effectively, not by the false appearance things present and which mislead into error, not directly by weakness of the reasoning powers, but by preconceived opinion, by prejudice.
